Adderbury Cine Club will be showing ‘The Christophers’ in The Institute. This is a Meals and Reels evening – doors open at 6.45 pm for the meal which starts at 7.00 pm and the film starts at 8.15 pm. The ‘Christophers’ is a comedy drama set in London about the art world. Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) is an elderly acerbic, once famous, artist approaching his death. He’s best known for a series of portraits known as ‘The Christophers’. Two sets have been released and some are worth millions. Sklar began the third set, but never completed them.
Open Meetings, Everybody Welcome! – Our plans for upgrading the facilities in St Mary’s Church have progressed. We want to show them to the Adderbury community and get your reactions.
Simon and Patrick Bradshaw will talk in The Institute at 7.15 pm about the familiar ‘Lampreys’ building. The building on Bridge Street dates to at least 1839. Simon and Patrick will reminisce about the agricultural merchant’s business that operated there— as well as Bridge Wharf and other locations in town — dealing in corn, cake, forage, seeds, coal, and coke. Visitors welcome at £5.00.
We meet at Lake Walk Car Park at 9.00 am – or just come along and find the group around the Lakes when you can. Bring strong gloves and if possible any loppers, rakes or spades. Coffee and biscuits are provided at break time and we finish by noon. For further details please contact Rachel Moffat at
